The Estate House: Now Open at Jumby Bay
Having been sympathetically transformed to is former grandeur following a $6 million restoration, we are delighted to tell you that Jumby Bay, A Rosewood Resort’s Estate House has now reopened its doors.
Set within the island’s 1830 plantation house is a new restaurant and bar, as well as three private dining rooms and a wine room; all of which are inspired by West Indian traditions and heritage.
“The restored Estate House represents the best of the old and new. It is the Caribbean’s ultimate social club for gourmet fare, sophisticated mixology, and mingling from day to night,” said Andrew Hedley, managing director of Jumby Bay and regional vice president of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.
The centrepiece of the island, the building has been returned to its former grandeur, with design and culinary concepts which use the best of local traditions. Inside is a new signature restaurant and bar, alongside three private dining rooms and a wine room.
A superlative new menu has been created, where guests can choose from scrumptious dishes such as Spiny lobster with Armagnac flambé, tomato, saffron pearl, and sea urchin; and Black sea bass with potato confit, or Rum Baba with berry compote and preserved citrus and Baked Alaska with rum flambé and Antiguan black pineapple. The Sunday Rum Brunch meanwhile looks set to become a ‘must-do’ for all guests of the island resort.
At the new 1830 bar a wide variety of rums will tickle tastebuds, with creative cocktails including the Antigua Black Daiquiri. On Saturdays, guests are invited to dress in whites and head to the Estate House for a game of lawn bowling while enjoying Pimm’s Cup cocktails.
The three private dining rooms – The Map Room, Blue Room and The Tent Room -
feature menus inspired by different regions of the world and the West Indies, from Morocco to the Antilles. Each is designed completely differently, with plenty to catch your eye as you dine in luxury.
