October in Cape Town
Our Destination Manager Richard Nurse, in Cape Town, offers his insight on what makes South Africa such a superb location for a luxury holiday…
Another lovely week in Cape Town with warm weather and lots of visitors. The Radisson Blu at the Waterfront has opened it's newly refurbished property with lots of open public spaces, as well as a fabulous restaurant that is practically at the water’s edge. What a lovely venue to have lunch and so close to the harbour as well.
Le Quatier Francaise have opened their new tasting room in Franschoek now and with the advent of summer and increased visitor numbers this is going to prove a popular venue.
As Cape Town starts to fill up with tourists there are some exciting events to look forward to such as The L'Ormirans Queens Plate horse race to be run on the 10th January next year, as well as the J&B Metropolitan handicap on the 27th January.
These are two extremely popular meetings and are the two jewels in the Cape Town horse racing crown every year. So, for horse racing enthusiasts that are contemplating a visit, it’s not too late folks. We can arrange hospitality seating at either or both meetings, so come and join us - we would love to see you.
Lastly, the whale sightings have been fantastic this last week with visitors witnessing mothers and their calves frolicking in the shallow water only metres from the shore. How wonderful that we are able to observe these amazing creatures from the land and therefore ensuring that we don't invade their space by using boats.
So as I mentioned in my previous blog…come and see us! We aren't going anywhere. Well, not when the weather is as glorious as this anyway!
