One&Only luxury living in Dubai

The last time I travelled to Dubai was over 10 years ago so when I was asked to visit earlier this year I couldn’t wait to see how much it had changed.

We travelled Club Class with British Airways from London, in just under 7 hours. The journey was effortless, as I sat very comfortably in my flat bed, enjoyed a lovely 3-course dinner and a few glasses of Champagne! Before I knew it we had arrived in Dubai, where the airport was huge but immaculate and where I would recommend you ask your Travel Specialist to book a meet and greet to prevent the long wait through customs.

I love Dubai as every time you visit the skyline changes, a new hotel appears and there is always something different to do. It's a great destination for all the family and there is something here for everyone; from the Dune Desert Safari to Ski Dubai, (the first indoor ski resort in the Middle East), Wild Wadi and Aquaventure water  parks, to the huge shopping malls, stunning beaches and the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.

I stayed at One&Only Royal Mirage, which I have to say is my favourite hotel in Dubai, due to it perfect combination of style, elegance and service. It has over 1km of private beach overlooking Palm Island, as well as three swimming pools, eight dining options and a complimentary children's club.

The hotel is divided into three parts; The Palace, Arabian Court and The Residence. Each has its own unique design that compliments the others perfectly. The rooms are beautifully furnished and offer stunning displays of fresh flowers and a signature colour scheme of creams with accent shades such as deep purple, teal and blue. The bathrooms are large with intricate mosaic detailed tiles and of course luxury Penhaligon toiletries.

We dined at the newly refurbished Nina restaurant, which served up the best Indian food I have ever tasted. We then headed out for a few drinks on a ladies night; which was certainly one to remember as most of the hotel bars compete with fantastic offers such a free bubbles until 11pm! This is just for the ladies though, but a great way to see the other parts of the city.

The following day I took the short complimentary boat transfer over to visit the One&Only The Palm. I was really looking forward to this as I know it has a great reputation.

This truly is a 5-star deluxe resort and it opitimises the essence of luxury with a chic contemporary feel. It boasts a private marina overlooking the magnificent Dubai skyline with a funky jetty bar playing chilled out dance tunes, and even poolside it's a glamorous affair with double day beds and poolside cabanas, serving exquisite cocktails as you relax in the sunshine.

Five nights to me simply isn't enough to enjoy all the wonders Dubai has to offer; so until next time!
