The Skiathos Princess Hotel is proud to announce its collaboration with former Olympic pentathlete, Greg Whyte OBE, as they continually look for the best health and fitness offerings for parents and children.

After YOGAqua at the luxurious resort was such a major success, connections with boutique fitness specialist Sandy Feet were made. Along with this, a huge €1.5million refurbishment is also taking place to help towards the on-going fitness holiday mission, with this latest hotel venture seeing Greg Whyte offer a variety of complimentary swimming classes on Sunday 31st August and Monday 1st September.

In an impressive career that saw the Olympian achieve European bronze and World Championship silver medals, Greg is happy to be on board with a scheme that readily promotes family fitness. Not only does he have an outstanding sporting career, but he is also involved heavily in charity work, most notably Sports Relief; coaching the likes of celebrity David Walliams to swim the English Channel and more recently supporting TV presenter Davina McCall during her epic triathlon from Edinburgh to London.

Katerina Santikou, development manager at Skiathos Princess Hotel, said: “Greg is the perfect partner for Skiathos Princess Hotel which prides itself on offering an unparalleled experience to guests of all ages. We are huge advocates of health and fitness for all, and working with the likes of Greg helps guests make the most of their stay with us should activity be integral to their holiday experience.”

The class on Sunday 31st August will be aimed at young children and beginners, while two classes will be held on Monday 1st September for competent older children and adults, allowing the programme to benefit a cross-section of guests.

Sunday 31st August
Starting at 9am, there will be a 45-minute swimming session that will be aimed at tiny tots (parents need to accompany) or slightly older children up to the age of six in the family pool. Greg will tailor-make and personally host a group session for up to 15 children. The session aims to be fun and interactive for those that can’t swim independently, whilst also being a great work out for parents.

Monday 1st September
This class is designed with competent swimmers in mind. Greg will be holding two classes on the second day, one being early morning (9am) and the other late afternoon (5pm). The morning class will be 60-minutes long that will focus on technique (max. group size 15), with the aims of the class being to help improve confidence of the youngsters using and improving techniques in all four strokes.

The afternoon class will be a bit longer at 60-90 minutes which is an open water technique swim session that is available for teenagers and above (group size 10-15). The session is solely for competent swimmers or those who wish to take on the challenge of open water. There will also be a Q&A session available about how to get the best out of swimming.
