ITC Staff Transported Back in Time
To celebrate the decade of ITC’s inception the ever inventive ITC Social Committee arranged a 70s themed night last Friday evening. The excellent event was held in the ITC top floor canteen which was decorated with 70s accessories including glow sticks and a liberal smattering of glam rock. Many of those in attendance were seen nodding their heads to Boston’s ‘More Than a Feeling’ and reliving their teenage years!
The evening began with 70s style Bucks Fizz and Jelly Beans which provided a unique way to wind down on a Friday evening. As those in attendance enjoyed their Bucks Fizz the alluring aroma of fish and chips slowly made its way through the room before baskets of the 70s tea time favourite were distributed. Many a chip butty was consumed and the scent of salt and vinegar filled the air.
After dinner we were treated to the full throttle excitement of a 70s inspired game of Bingo. To cries of ‘Legs Eleven’ and ‘Two Fat Ducks’ players with dobbers in hand listened intently for the numbers that could win them fantastic prizes including British Airways Club World flights.
It was now the evening turned its attention to Halloween with a pumpkin carving competition ably judged by Nikki Tomlinson and Kerry Beavis from British Airways. The winner’s pumpkin was a fantastic example of modernist carving and was perfectly haunting.
Further competitive events included the surreal spectacle of snail racing as well as a highly competitive round of table football which really showcased the competitive nature of many at ITC.
A fantastic night was enjoyed by all and thanks must go to British Airways for sponsoring the night and congratulations go to the night’s winners Caroline Gemmel, Kim Willman and Elizabeth Powell who all won British Airways Flights.
