Playing ball with the best in Sardinia

Recently I was tweeting about the sports hosts at Forte Village, Sardinia in 2013, which include rugby ace Austin Healey, tennis star Pat Cash, Ettore Messina (basketball) and Paul Nixon (football). So, it was with interest I read an article on this subject in the Sunday Telegraph. ‘Has your child ever dreamed of playing against Vaughan and Stewart?’ asked former county player Simon Hughes because he’d discovered Forte Village, Sardinia, a hotel where there’s so much to do you’ll hardly know where to begin.

Its child friendly attributes and activities have certainly put it on my travel radar; although my son is only a baby at the moment, once he’s old enough to appreciate its sports facilities this property is sure to become a favourite.

Simon and his family had enjoyed the Cricket course in April, run by ex-England cricket captains Michael Vaughn and Alec Stewart. Don’t worry if you missed this, as from May to September the hotel welcomes the ‘Chelsea Soccer Football Academy,’ in which boys and girls receive coaching from the experts of Chelsea Football Club. Pat Cash also makes coaching visits to the Tennis Academy that bears his name, so there are still plenty of opportunities to get your kids’ trained by the best this year.

As Simon said ‘Forte Village is the ideal location for such a sport infused week.’ and I agree but I also believe this property is a haven for every discerning holiday maker and with 21 restaurants, the ‘Thalasso del Forte’, a Leading Spa of the World and activities for all ages and interests - it’s the perfect choice for families who want everything!
