Last Friday our Aviation Manager, Catherine Winstanley, was honoured to be invited by British Airways to view their new A380 and B787 Dreamliner aircraft at Heathrow.

"Walking up to the A380 I started to comprehend the shear size of the aircraft as watching it from the terminal just doesn’t do it justice. Onboard BA offer four cabins, First, Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller. We were allowed to explore the whole plane including the staff areas and Flight Deck so it was an absolute treat. The whole feeling of the aircraft is sleek and modern, my particular favourite being Club World upstairs with a configuration of 2-3-2, the middle three seats being great if travelling with a child. After exploring the A380, I moved onto the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which offers three cabins; Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller. The product onboard is the same as the A380. However, the first thing I noticed was how light it was onboard, the crew explained that the windows are larger than normal commercial aircraft and none of them have window blinds. The colour of the window changes at the touch of a button from light to dark offering you full control.  Another great thing is the 787 maintains a cabin pressure of 6,000 feet rather than 8,000 on older aircraft, allowing you to arrive at your destination feeling much less tired and dehydrated."

The A380 begins operating from the 24 September to Los Angeles and to Hong Kong from the 22 October.

The 787 begins operating from the 01 September to Toronto and to Newark from the 01 October.
