Welcome to the ITC Academy
We are delighted to announce that we’ve re-launched the ITC Training Academy with a twist this years, as our three lucky candidates are now working towards a nationally recognised apprenticeship. When they pass (which they will) they’ll not only receive the opportunity to work for ITC but will also receive a qualification in Travel Services Tour Operators Level 2 which is bespoke to ITC.
The three students are from West Cheshire College and are all level 2/3 students who’ve just finished their last year. A lengthy interview process took place where the candidates showcased their travel knowledge and skills with PowerPoint presentations and demonstrations of how they embodied the values of ITC before the finalist were awarded with their places in the Academy.
After the interviews we chose three people that we believe demonstrate our values and have the desire to learn and develop, the new ITC Academy members are: Client Experiences & Concierge Apprentice Katie Sanders, Administration & Concierge Apprentice Beth Behan and Product & Ecommerce Apprentice Reema Baker.
The Academy is run by a former West Cheshire College student Jonathan Bellamy who has been with the company for 12 years. He has provided a mentor for each of the students, two of which also began their careers with ITC following work experience with the company.
Jonathan said: “My progression and others within the company proves that the right person, given trust, training and opportunity can grow their career into something amazing with ITC!”
The Academy will run for a 12 month period and along with learning about the business and becoming a key part of each of the teams, the students will also have modules to complete and an assessor from WCC will pop in every couple of months to evaluate the progress.
Jonathan continues: “Here at ITC we have always believed in nurturing our own home grown talent and the ITC Academy will provide the students with a great springboard to learn about the basics of our business. We can teach anyone to use our systems and sell holidays as we have a fabulous training, support and development programme. However we can’t teach people to love travel and to be passionate and have genuine desire to learn, grown, achieve and progress – this comes from the heart and what’s inside! We wish all of our new Academy members good luck and will help them every step of the way to be the very best!”
