Sardinia Sun

On departure from London City airport with British Airways I left the wet and cold British weather and flew 2 hours to the bright blue skies, white sandy beaches and crystal clears waters of Sardinia.

Just a 45 minute transfer in a luxury vehicle takes you to the Forte Village on the beautiful South Coast of Sardinia.

My first impression was where is all the accommodation; I was imagining a large resort very busy and accommodation on top of one another. I was pleasantly surprised! Although the resort is large with 8 hotels ranging from 3 star through to 5 star luxury and other accommodation offerings such as exclusive suites and villas, the sense of space is amazing.

On the 5 minute journey to the Hotel Castello, located close to the beach, which was where I was staying for the two nights, there is enough flower and fauna for you to feel you are travelling to the only accommodation and hotel within the resort.

Hotel Castello is traditional Sardinian style hotel with elegantly furnished rooms, the Executive Deluxe Mare Room I was staying in are located on the higher floors where the views over the tree tops take you out to the bright blue ocean. It also has a dedicated check in and personal service 24 hours a day.

Guests staying in the luxurious Hotel Castillo also have exclusive use of the heated freshwater swimming pool dedicated to the resorts most prestigious accommodation.

Le Dune was another of my personal favourite accommodations with fantastic bungalows and suites close to the beach each with their own private garden and patio. These accommodations can interconnect making a perfect two bedroom accommodation for larger families; if you like the feeling of a villa style accommodation with VIP treatment of a luxury hotel this accommodation is perfect.

The resort has a huge array of activities including the Chelsea Soccer Football Academy in which children can receive coaching from the experts of Chelsea Football Club (May to September), they also have Golf, Tennis, Cricket and Rugby academy's throughout the year.

In the evenings there was live music, disco, go-karting to name but a few things, or if you want a romantic dinner for two you can always find a quite spot within the gardens to arrange a private dining experience.

This resort has something for everybody and can be as active or as relaxed as you want it to be; the choice is yours!
