St Lucia Has The X-Factor
At the weekend, the dramatic twin peaks Les Pitons in Saint Lucia were treated to the sound of music 'X Factor' style, as the island played host to the popular ITV1 show with judge Tulisa and the 'girls' visiting the island, to decide on who would be going forth to the live shows.
The X Factor was filmed at Jade Mountain, which is located near the Pitons in the picturesque town of Soufriere on the south west coast of Saint Lucia and having stayed there myself I must admit that I watched with added interest. When it comes to being treated to a room with a truly mesmerizing view, Jade Mountain is one hotel that really did take my breath away, with its impressive, bold architectural design.
Anyone who watched will have seen how the hotel clings to the cliff which allows for the jaw dropping views, but to actually stay here takes things to a whole new level. The bedrooms are called sanctuaries and feature 15ft high ceilings with their fourth sea facing wall totally open, great for views but with the rule book of design skillfully thrown out of the illusive windows, I have to admit it took me a while to adjust to it, but once I did it was an amazing, unique experience I'll never forget.
For me, Jade Mountain is a shining example of architectural excellence, cleverly designed by architect owner Nick Troubetzkoy to ensure every awe-inspiring view is entirely unobstructed. It's both dramatic and indulgent, and with each bedroom feelng like a stage, this is the perfect location for the X Factor hopefuls who I am sure are going to be inspired by those amazing views of the eternal Caribbean Sea! All that remains to be said is how lucky Tulisa and her girls are to experience this place in paradise. Good luck to you all and I bet everyone who watched wished they were there!
