After being on my bucket list for a number of years, I was really excited when I got the opportunity to visit the beautiful island of Bali. What's really noticeable from the moment you arrive is its diverse landscape; the mountains, paddy fields and rugged coastlines as well as its sandy beaches. However, it was the Balinese hospitality and culture which really blew me away, with nothing too much trouble, even the workers in the paddy felids who showed me how to plant rice and even plough one of the fields, with the help of a well-trained ox, were so friendly and happy to help me.
As expected, the hotels in Bali didn't disappoint, they were all sumptuous and brimming with great facilities, delicious Indonesian cuisine and exceptional spas. Being such a spiritual country, the essence of Bali is peace and tranquillity, making it the perfect location for my first insight into meditation and yoga! I would strongly recommend staying in at least two different locations to really get the most out of your Balinese experience, and a visit to Tanah Lot temples and Uluwatu Temple for the traditional Kecak and Fire dance is a must!
