Twin Center Holidays To The Middle East
It's been almost a year since I was last in Dubai and it's changed so much in that short time, not least at the Ritz-Carlton Dubai, now nearing the end of their plan to double in size. It's in a prime position, on a long stretch of beach but keeps the feeling exclusive and there's also the fabulous JBR Walk across the road, for great restaurants and shopping, there's even a Boots Pharmacy, great if you've forgotten anything. That's of course if you leave the hotel! Between a massage at the Spa, watching the camel rides on the beach, and the constant trips I made to the Club Lounge (breakfast, midday snacks, afternoon sweet treats, pre and post dinner drinks) I was amazed I had time to explore Dubai.
Some other treats in Dubai included afternoon tea looking out from the top of the worlds tallest building Burj Khalifa and a return to The Jetty bar at One&Only Royal Mirage to sip the exclusive white Moet (ITC Classics can pre-book these for you - a must for Burj Khalifa). For a taste of authentic Arabia, Amaseena at the Ritz-Carlton is a must, dine outside under Bedouin tents and sample cuisine from the large buffet and ask the chefs to personally prepare some grilled meat and seafood, followed by an authentic shish pipe if you wish.
After moving around Dubai the perfect twin centre is the desert. No internal flights or waiting around an airport, instead a car ride away to sample something totally different. Great choices for a twin centre are Al Maha resort, or for something further away Six Senses Zighy Bay which is in north Oman. My choice for this trip was a twin centre in its own right, Banyan Tree Al Wadi. For the first night I stayed in their Beach resort which is 90 minutes away from Dubai by car and then a short shuttle boat ride to this exclusive resort. Picturesque tents with their own sun deck, pool and beach pavilion. This resort is very small and intimate, in the very up-and-coming Ras Al Khaimah beachfront,
Dubai really is a great place to stay for your whole holiday or to experience a twin centre, and I can highly recommend a twin centre within the middle east; Ras Al Khaimah, Abu Dhabi and north Oman can all be accessed within a 2 hour car drive and give a totally different experience
