After an early start from Manchester to catch the first flight to Mallorca we arrived in Palma - where we were greeted by our lovely private transfer! A scenic 35 minute drive through the beautiful mountains into the islands stunning interior and we arrived at La Residencia - the one word uttered from my lips for this hotel is wow!

Nestled into the mountains of Deia - this charming property offers a traditional Spanish residence mixed with the comfort and amenities of a modern world, what I would describe as an eclectic mix of bohemian luxury. There are lots of Artists studios within Deia and a resident artist at the hotel which all adds to the charm.

Our room was beautiful - I would highly recommend the Tramantana suites offering stunning mountain views an lots of space with great bathrooms. The "no mobile phones outside your room policy" really let's you escape and enjoy time to yourself. A trip to El Olivio restaurant is a must - the fine dining experience is phenomenal and the food is amazing, a real mix of world fusions with a Mediterranean influence.

Following our night at La Residencia we were transferred to St Regis Mardavall, near Palma - this is a classical uber luxury hotel where there is something for everyone - from families to couples or even business travel. Offering a huge array of facilities with a fabulous spa and great sea views. Lots of personal space is evident throughout the hotel especially around the pool area - with hammocks, day beds and loungers you are spoilt for choice. Again this hotel offers delicious food in a range of restaurants and the breakfast is simply amazing, with every different food you can imagine. The St Regis, is ideally located for those wishing to pop into Palma for shopping as it is a quick 15 minutes taxi ride away, so a great base if you need more than just your sunlounger.

A very quick and productive trip to Mallorca reminded us just how beautiful the island is; how friendly the people are and also how delicious the food can be! Only a couple of hours from the UK - perfect for a long weekend or a 2 week holiday.
