This weekend's Daily Telegraph travel section certainly did the Caribbean proud! Fred Mawer's feature on how to find a great deal during what is traditionally the peak season for the destination struck a chord with me because "best value" is something I'm constantly sourcing from our hotel partners on behalf of our clients.

His tip of looking at early December or May is spot on, there are often some fabulous deals for this time of year, but deals can also be found for mid to late January and selected periods of March. New offers are being released all the time so do keep an eye on our website or even better, sign up to receive our regular e-newsletters or call 01244 355 550 to speak to one of our Travel Specialists. And on the subject of flights, Fred mentioned that the latest British Airways offers to the Caribbean had ended, well the good news is that the "book by" date has been extended to 30 November 2011, for travel through to 30 September 2012, so there's still time to bag yourself a bargain!

Fred also put St Lucia under the spotlight and I read with real interest because I'd visited all of the luxury properties he mentioned as recently as July this year. As a destination the island is absolutely stunning; lush tropical peaks plunging to secluded beaches, resorts with exceptional views and yes, romance is definitely high on the agenda! For our own pick of the very best resorts on the island visit our St Lucia section and if you'd like further insights, you can find blogs on Cap Maison, Jade Mountain, East Winds Inn and St Lucia.
