Je t'aime Paris - The city of love

Posted:

Sophisticating and oozing chic appeal, Paris is a city that deserves a hotel to match. And in my opinion its latest offering, having only opened this summer, the simply stunning Mandarin Oriental Hotel, is almost impossible to knock from it's beautiful haute couture perch as the city's contender for best newcomer to the Parisian block.

Not only is it a glittering example of elegance, its location is also first rate, surrounded by Channel, Jimmy Choo and Roberto Cavalli in the up-market shopping and dinning area of the city and within walking distance of The Louvre. Fashion, great food and culture; what more could you ask for in Paris?

The hotel itself is also very stylish and the service genuinely warm and welcoming. I was very taken with the style of the hotel and the food was amazing; well with a 2 star Michelin chef what else would you expect? The Terrace garden in the centre with its natural light and heating for the evenings is the perfect place to enjoy your welcome champagne whatever the time of day. The Spa is stunning with a whole host of treatments and it's cleverly tucked away underneath the hotel offering guests peace and tranquillity.

You could not want for anything as they have really thought of everything - straighteners in the bathroom for the ladies, the full technology works by Bang and Olufsen in the bedrooms, mini umbrellas and fabulous chocolate lollipops downstairs for the children not the mention the popcorn maker already in the room for my little ones' on arrival. The autumn colours, blue skies and bright sunshine made our trip even more enjoyable for late October. Mandarin Oriental Hotel, totally focussed on the leisure traveller, perfectly formed and my new favourite place for a short break away - I can highly recommend it.
