The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose the Seychelles as their classic 'get-away-from-it-all' honeymoon location. Lying in the Indian Ocean between the Tropic of Capricorn and the Equator, the Seychelles archipelago really does tick all of the honeymoon boxes - white sand beaches, seclusion, luxury, sunshine and of course romance.

Their honeymoon island of choice was the idyllic North Island, a paragon of tropical island escapes and a truly stunning resort where life revolves around your specific desires, manifested in the 'no-menu' concept. In short, you choose what you would like to eat, when and where, and North Island will do the rest! The Island has just 11 handcrafted villas, so it is the ultimate boutique retreat, all set in a sanctuary of powder-soft beaches, and can be summed up as the perfect combination of castaway luxury with a light ecological footprint.

Conservation is at the heart of many of the Island's activities, with exceptional dive sites and fantastic snorkelling a speciality. Private and secluded villas have full butler service, a private kitchen where a chef will prepare your meals, and your own plunge pool and sala. It's no wonder the happy couple fell for its charms.

They chose the Seychelles for their honeymoon having first visited the island of Desroches four years ago. Desroches is another property featured within the ITC Classics portfolio and it was reported that William had told islanders that this trip was the best holiday he had ever had.

Desroches is a serene sanctuary where you can escape the outside world in style, with all suites enjoying ocean views, four-poster beds and private terraces.
