Exquisite cuisine and delectable dining at Cap Maison

A glass of champagne on arrival followed by delectable homemade chocolate chip cookies awaiting me in my villa suite set the tone - food and beverage is front and centre at Cap Maison. The restaurant, The Cliff at Cap, offers a temptation of tastes for every meal and all to be savoured from upon high, looking out over the coast whilst listening to the waves crashing many feet below. You can't beat dining by the ocean but the quality of the cuisine has to match the setting and it's here that Cap Maison really hits the mark. This was my first stop of an extensive ten day St Lucia and Grenada trip, during which I was wined and dined in considerable style by the best hotels that each island has to offer, yet I can say honestly that dining at Cap Maison was my culinary highlight.

Another huge plus point is the spacious, villa-style accommodation. Villa Suites are available with up to three bedrooms but if you only need one you can still luxuriate in the space and facilities provided by the generous living area, well-equipped kitchen, expansive wraparound verandahs and, in my case, an enormous rooftop terrace complete with private pool. It's well worth upgrading yourself from the still eminently comfortable Junior Suites for all of these extra benefits. The small touches that make all the difference are in evidence too; from cable TV, Bose sound system and iPod docking station for technology lovers to a beautifully tiled, very spacious and serene bathroom for the aesthetes amongst us.

Cap Maison is a gem of a resort and, to return to the fabulous cuisine, I'd love to return one day and try out the option of a personalised dinner, prepared and cooked by a resort chef in my Villa Suite, served under the stars on my rooftop terrace - now that really would be special!
