The Unbeatable Balearics
On reading Annie Bennett's article in Saturdays Telegraph, I have to agree with her that the Balearic Islands can be visited again and again. My personal favourite, and a Balearic island loved by our clients, is Majorca and in particular a place that can be visited time and time again is the stunning Hotel La Residencia, part of the renowned Orient-Express group.
The notion that places exist that look like they should be in a fairytale excites me and every time I approach the hilltop village of Deià, home to Hotel La Residencia, my pulse begins to race. With the towering mountains of the 'Serra de Tramuntana' as its backdrop, it is truly magical and over the years it has become a haven for artists, writers and musicians, all equally mesmerized by its charms.
La Residencia is a suberb property that has it all, including an award-winning Spa with wide choice of treatments that really will make you feel pampered and spoilt. If your holiday is all about indulging yourself, book ahead to sample the sublime cuisine available at El Olivo, reputedly one of Spain's finest restaurants set in what was once an olive press. This is a place where indulgence is well and truly the order of the day.
