Many clients fly first into the International airports of Barbados, St. Lucia or Grenada, perhaps staying for a week in a hotel or villa prior to joining their yacht. There are feeder flights into St. Vincent, Bequia, Mustique and Union islands and these are great starting points for a Grenadines cruise.
Some of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean are the idyllic Grenadines. We recommend a one way charter starting in St. Vincent or Bequia and finishing in Union Island or Grenada if time allows. This will provide a leisurely cruise down through the islands visiting Mustique, Canouan, Petit St..Vincent, Palm Island and the very beautiful Tobago Cays. The sails between islands are short and there are many exquisite and quiet anchorages. The topographies and cultures differ from island to island with the colourful local markets well worth a visit. This part of the Caribbean has retained its local charm and is perfect to visit year-round.
Board the yacht on the island of Bequia which was once the home of whaling in the Caribbean and is a delightful, friendly little island. See traditional boat building and perhaps visit the local market for spices.
After breakfast sail to Petit Nevis for lunch and a snorkel. There are numerous pretty bays for swimming and good snorkelling. Explore the island and spend a peaceful night at anchor.
After breakfast and a swim set sail to the famous island of Mustique with its beautiful holiday homes of the rich and famous. Visit Basils Bar, the "Casablanca" of the Caribbean and try a very special rum punch! There are some wonderful private beaches for picnics and barbeques or maybe dinner ashore at the Cotton House.
Explore Mustique before a pleasant sail of about three to four hours to the island of Mayreau with its exquisite half moon Salt Whistle Bay. Wonderful swimming and good walks along the windward beach.
Climb to the top of Mayreau and enjoy the magnificent view of the Tobago Cays. During the morning sail to the Tobago Cays and anchor amidst the reef fringed collection of small cays. Excellent swimming and snorkelling.
Continue to enjoy the Tobago Cays, perfect for snorkelling and scuba diving. Perhaps a picnic on a deserted beach.
When you are ready to leave the Tobago Cays, sail to Saline Bay on the island of Mayreau where you will spend your last night at anchor.
After breakfast and a swim, sail to Canouan to catch your return flight to Barbados.
It is best to start charters in the Grenadines in the north ie: St. Vincent, Bequia or Mustique and finish south at P.S.V. Palm Island or Union Island, so you are sailing in the same direction as the trade winds for gentle/easy sailing.
