St. Kitts, Nevis, Barbuda, Dominica and St. Barts all have convenient meeting points for the yachts, depending on the scheduling. Once on the water, the Leeward Islands open up to span over some 200 miles and stretch from Anguilla to Dominica and also include St. Martin, Saba, St. Barts, St. Kitts, Nevis, Barbuda, Antigua, and Guadaloupe.

The islands are all very different, from sophisticated restaurants and casinos in St Martin to exclusive shopping and dining in St. Barts and splendid, deserted beaches on Barbuda and Antigua. You will find more sailing between these islands and in some areas you could be sailing for 3/6 hours each day in open waters but during December through March, the sailing may be quite rough for inexperienced sailors. It would take some considerable time to cruise all the Leeward Islands so it is best to select a few islands if you only have seven to ten days to charter. A one way charter from Antigua to St Martin is a popular choice with stops in Barbuda, Nevis, St Barts and Anguilla.

Suggested Itinerary

Best suited for clients who enjoy a lot of sailing

Day 1/2
Join the yacht in Anse Marcel, a delightful marina on the French side of St. Maartin. Anchor near a small beach, swim and maybe go ashore early evening for a walk.

Day 3/4
A two hour sail takes you to Anguilla with some of the most beautiful beaches in the Leeward islands. Anchor for lunch at Dog Island and enjoy some excellent snorkelling. There are numerous anchorages and beautiful bays to explore.

Day 5
A one hour sail brings you to Prickly Pear for lunch. These area group of 'post card' islands are perfect for a beach barbecue. In the afternoon set sail for Tintamarre an uninhabited French Island

Day 6
A three hour sail then brings you to St. Barths Anchor in Colombier Bay and enjoy the afternoon relaxing on the beaches with maybe dinner at one of the superb local restaurants.

Day 7
Full day in St.Barths. Select another of the many beautiful anchorages and explore some of the stunning bays. Hire a jeep for a couple of hours to tour the island and maybe a sunset cruise.

Day 8
After a swim and early breakfast, set sail for St. Maartin with a drop off at approximately noon for your return flight.

For an itinerary with a large amount of sailing then a ten day charter could also visit Antigua, Barbuda, Nevis or St. Kitts. Another option for more gentle sailing in the Leeward Islands is one week just cruising around Antigua and Barbuda with a pick up and drop off in Antigua.
