Experience true Africa with the Rovos Rail Tour, snaking through aweinspiring landscapes from the imposing prestige of Table Mountain in Cape Town, through to the intimidating Victoria Falls on the Zambia-Zimbabwe border. Thanks to the beautiful wood-panelled coaches, exquisitely finished suites and remarkable cuisine, guests are treated to a world-class experience on board the famous Rovos Rail steam train, as they revel in their elegant surroundings whilst trying to digest the plethora of magnificent sights. The Rovos Rail itinerary below also includes a fantastic game-viewing experience and a stay at the perfectlypositioned Victoria Falls Hotel.


Day 1
On arrival in Cape Town transfer to stay for three nights on a bed & breakfast basis at Kensington Place, a small exclusive hotel set on the foothills of Table Mountain in one of Cape Town's most prestigious residential areas. It offers breathtaking views of Table Bay, the harbour, city skyline and mountains and is within easy reach of the city centre, historical sites, beaches, vineyards and walks in the bordering nature reserve.

Day 4
Transfer to Cape Town airport to depart on the morning flight to Hoedspruit. On arrival transfer by road to stay for three nights on full board basis at Royal Malewane, where guests sample the best game-viewing experience Africa has to offer. Situated in the heart of an 11,500 hectare wildlife paradise lying adjacent to the Kruger National Park, Royal Malewane is home to big game including lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino - and some 250 recorded bird species.

Day 7
Transfer by road to Hoedspruit and fly to Johannesburg. On arrival transfer to stay overnight on bed & breakfast basis at The Saxon. Nestled in exclusive Sandton, this property is a combination of ethnic African elegance and personalised attention to detail. The superb accommodation offers a wonderful respite from the bustle of Johannesburg, and it was here that Nelson Mandela chose to reside when released from prison.

Day 8
Transfer to Pretoria railway station to board the famous Rovos Rail for the journey to Victoria Falls, staying on a full board basis in a Pullman Suite. This superb historic steam train takes guests on a two night trip, meandering through unbelievable countryside to Mafikeng into Botswana, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn just after Gaborone, then continuing past Bulawayo and through the Hwange Game Reserve, before finishing at Victoria Falls.

Day 10
On arrival in Victoria Falls transfer to stay for three nights on bed & breakfast basis at the Victoria Falls Hotel, overlooking the Victoria Falls Bridge and the gorges below.

Day 13
Transfer to the airport and depart on the afternoon flight to Johannesburg.
