Why a luxury holiday in Canada
Travelling by train is a great way to get a feel for this country, as well as use your time travelling between destinations to see the changing landscape. In the deserted, silent, yet simply beautiful northern regions you can track polar bears, or head further south to the dramatic forests and rivers that are home to their cousins; the great grizzlies.
A summer visit can best be spent touring The Rocky Mountains, the picture-perfect location for photography and offering plenty in the way of outdoor pursuits and fishing in the great lakes. Witnessing the killer whales in June and July will take your breath away.
Come the winter months and a ski holiday will offer pristine slopes and guaranteed snow; a true winter wonderland. Away from the pistes, dog-sledding excursions and guided tours to see the aurora borealis should certainly be on your list of ‘must sees’.
Great Bear Lodge was used as a base for filming by the BBC wildlife team behind the Secrets of our Living Planet series
