As an incredibly eco-friendly resort, Frégate is really keen to introduce guests to the island’s fantastic ecosystem, affording you a greater understanding of the importance of the many conservation projects for life on the island. Embark on a Nature Walk with a resident conservationist for an inspiring insight, or assist them in some of their field work, such as checking nest boxes for chicks, or searching for sea turtle hatchlings. Guests can also make an invaluable contribution to conservation activities via the Tortoise Adoption Programme.
Snaking mountain trails are great for hiking and mountain biking, while the Rock Spa offers a less strenuous alternative. Arrangements can also be made for helicopter rides to golfing destinations or other islands.
PADI certified diving courses are available for all levels, and the diving staff are always happy to share their recommendations when it comes to the numerous dive sites in the area. A nearby game bank is available for deep sea fishing enthusiasts, and the resort can also make arrangements for you to accompany a local fisherman on a trip for a truly authentic taste of Seychellois life.
Finally, be sure to make the most of the island’s awe-inspiring location by taking part in the stargazing programme.
Children will have a brilliant time too. The Kids’ Club runs all sorts of activities for children between the ages of three and 12, ranging from treasure hunts to meeting the giant tortoises.
Life on Frégate Island is truly indulgent and flexible. Dining is by no means restricted to the restaurants and bars – in fact, you can dine anywhere you like. The Treehouse high up in one of the island's oldest and largest banyan trees is a popular dining room, as are the stunning beaches and the Glacis Cerf Pavilion.
Enjoy a relaxing afternoon tea, barbecue or game of pool at the Yacht Club, right by the private lagoon, or choose your ingredients with the Chef de Cuisine as you sit down to dine at the plantation. The Plantation House is a fantastic dining venue – the charming colonial architecture and sumptuous Creole cuisine will captivate and delight. You’ll also find the resort’s museum at the plantation – be sure to pop in to discover some fantastic facts about the Seychelles.
If you’d prefer to make the most of the spectacular Indian Ocean as you dine, then opt for a Sunset Cruise or Sashimi Picnic – you’ll be taken out on the water in a boat. Alternatively, enjoy an early evening cocktail on Frégate Island’s highest point, Mont Signal, or dine in the comfort and privacy of your own residence. The choice is yours!
Finally, a word about the cuisine itself – it’s divine! Produce is grown organically on the island, ensuring you savour only the freshest fare. This resort really cares about nurturing the island’s natural habitat, and this definitely comes across in the many flavours and ingredients.
